The Roadmap for 2024 for The Elder Scrolls Online is revealed. Here’s is everything we learned during the Bethesda global reveal stream of Gold Road. There’s a lot to unpack but a little hint ‘Spell Crafting’ lets get into it!
Gold Road Chapter
The Gold Road is the next major year long chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online. With the announcement of Gold Road comes many new additions and changes to the game. First is a brand new zone called West Weald. West Weald is a massive new zone filled with all that has come to be expected over the years in ESO. New quests, new and returning characters, city hubs, and beautiful world design are all to be expected. Within the zone of West Weald will be 3 distinct biomes all unique and provide a different feeling as you travel across the land. We are very excited to explore the zone of West Weald when Gold Road releases in June.
Along with a new zone will be “something they’ve never done before” by introducing a new Daedric Prince Ithelia. Or the return of a forgotten Daedric Prince, Ithelia. And lastly, the announcement of the highly requested and anticipated in game system of spell crafting aka Scribing.
Scribing (Spell Crafting)
Since the launch of the game back in 2014 the community has been requesting some sort of spell crafting mechanic in the game. Additionally the developers in the past have revealed that spell crafting would be coming at some point. Well that time is now with the introduction of the Scribing mechanic coming with the Gold Road chapter release. “The Scribing system will give players a level of flexibility with their builds they’ve never seen before and the new customizable abilities can be used by any class.”
The scribing system will introduce a new category of skills to the game, each have 3 parts. Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary. The player will be able to customize each of these parts of each unique new ability changing things such as the damage type, 2nd damage type or effect and finally a buff or debuff as a Tertiary effect. This new system will bring a bunch of new and unique builds and playstyles for all players of ESO. Check back for in depth guides and news about this upcoming system as more information is released.
Update 41 Scions of Ithelia
Although the Gold Road chapter is being released in June players wont have to wait long for new content. Update 41 Scions of Ithelia, the first of the year long installment, is coming this month to the public test server with live server release in March. This DLC will include two new 4 player dungeons Oathsworn Pit and Bedlam Veil. As always expect both of these dungeons to include new powerful sets and monster gear to make your character even stronger. A livestream on the Bethesda channel will happen on January 26th showcasing the two new dungeons. Update 41 will also include new quest story lines and other announcements still to come. Update 44 PvP Feature
There is a full year packed of content coming. But one thing that caught the community’s attention was Update 44 including a new “PvP-Related Feature”. There is already a lot of speculation on what this feature could be but the PvP community is undoubtedly excited for this. In the past the PvP community has felt that the developers have been lacking on new PvP related content so this is huge news in the space. Below is the full roadmap for 2024 the Gold Road.
