Dead Island 2 has gone gold and it’s release date has been moved forward by a week, the game is will now release on April 21.

The developers announced this via Twitter. The game has ‘gone gold’, which means that the game can be pressed to disc. It used to also mean that development is complete. Nowadays patches for a game are usually still being developed until and after release of a game.
Dead Island 2 was originally announced in 2014, but was revealed again last August. There are six playable characters to choose from, with each character having its own personality and unique dialogues. Each ‘Slayer’ you can fully customize via a new skill system. You will be able to play the game in co-op up to three players.
Dead Island 2 will be released on April 21 on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5/4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
