The Sons Of The Forest is set to release at the end of February, the developer, Endnight Games, announced that the game will release as a Early Access title.
The ultimate survival horror simulator, is what the developers want The Sons Of The Forest to feel like. Endnight Games previously created “The Forest”, which is rated Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam with over 387.000 reviews. The Forest also started out as a early access title, with a early access release back in 2014. The 1.0 version of the game did not release until April 30, 2018.
Endnight Games now plans to do the same with Sons Of The Forest, start out as early access and release the full game at a later point. “We are hoping to be in early access for around 6-8 months, but this could change. We will leave Early Access when we are certain this is the best version of the game possible.” the developer says on their Steam page.
Why Early Access?
The original plan was to release the full game this month, so why change it to a early access title instead of delaying the launch of the game, as many titles recently have done. “Our experience with releasing our first game ‘The Forest’ in Early Access was extremely positive. We got a lot of really good feedback and suggestions and were able to shape and improve the game drastically, rather than if we kept development internal. Having players involved at this stage will make this game even better.” Endnight Games says.
The team at Endnight Games doesn’t plan on changing the original price point of $29.99. It’s set to release as a Early Access title on February 23, 2023.
