Update 37, Scribes of Fate DLC, hit the PTS Server for The Elder Scrolls Online this week. This brought along massive changes to combat abilities. There are mixed feelings about the proposed changes so lets go over them.
On Monday The Elder Scrolls Online dropped Update 37 on the PTS servers along with it the PTS Patch Notes for the Scribes of Fate DLC. Many changes are coming and some of them are big. Lets go over some of the more notable changes coming to ESO’s next DLC.
Changes to Taunt:
There will now be more ways to taunt an enemy in The Elder Scrolls Online. Coming in Update 37 is the removal of the current “soft taunt” mechanic. Along with this change, pull abilities such as Fiery Grip or Silver Leash, will now taunt the enemy. This also works with item sets that pull as well. However, Area of Effect pulls like Dark Convergence, Rush of Agony, or Void Bash will not be affected by these changes. Other changes to taunt include a feature that makes “overtaunting’ harder to do.
Mist Form/Teleport:
Vampire skill Mist Form received a crazy change. Elusive Mist is now a teleport that gives buffs as well. Blood Mist morph also teleports but also deals damage and heals?!?!?!?! These changes are very strong as of now. The new teleport works similar to a sorcerers streak ability.
Class Changes:
- Sorcerer: Sorcerers are getting a slight buff. Especially magicka sorcerers. Shield scaling is changing which should result is larger shields for sorcerers. Many are excited for these changes as a lot have felt that magicka sorcerers were underpowered in pvp situations.
- Templar: Empowering Sweep renamed to Everlasting Sweep.
- Dragonknight: Empowering Chains renamed to Chains of Devastation. Now grants major berserk instead of empower.
- Warden: Cutting Dive got a slight buff. Shimmering Shield now grants ultimate instead of restoring magicka. Crystallized Slab does damage and a stun.
- Necromancer: Graverobber is getting a massive nerf by 47%.
Other Notable Changes: Other changes coming to Update 37 are various weapon skill changes, none very notable. Jewelry trait changes that are a slight buff. Weapon and Spell damage Glyphs now grant just damage with magicka or stamina recovery. And some balance adjustments to sets and weapons.
