Content Creators get hands-on with Hogwarts Legacy

As we inch closer to the release of Hogwarts Legacy, the developers have invited a handful of content creators to play a hands-on demo at the Warner Bros. Games studios in Los Angeles. In this article we’ll give you a overview on what the content creators got to experience and what new things we learned about the game.

Character Creater

Everyone that was invited got to experience making their own character in the Hogwart Legacy Character Creator. Lots of different options for facial features such as the curve of your nose and the number of spots on your face. Even the depth of your voice can be adjusted. The character creator is extremely diverse and inclusive; a good thing for a game that will soon be played by many different people. After all, there are quite a few Harry Potter fans wanting to experience Hogwarts student life. We’ve got a in-depth insight on the Hogwarts Legacy Character Creator here! In the video below by WizardPhD you get a look at all the different hairstyles in the Hogwarts Legacy Character Creator.

Hogwarts Grounds

Around the Hogwarts Grounds there are plenty of places to explore. As seen in multiple different people’ playthroughs there is a huge outside courtyard, a mini game called Summoner’s Court, the Owlery in the distance, The Black Lake curving around the Hogwarts castle and The Quidditch Pitch, which is not completely empty, even though it’s confirmed there will be no playable Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy at launch (we really hope it will be added as DLC in the future, fingers crossed).

One of the content creators that got to experience this hands-on demo of Hogwarts Legacy is WizardPhD, she got handed the controller and was allowed to fly all around the Hogwarts Castle. Showing off all the different towers, and the tainted glass of the Great Hall from the outside. Ending at the Middle Courtyard, which looks absolutely stunning!

Hogwarts Castle

Going inside the castle we get a look at the Central Hall, that connects the different parts of the castle. We get a first look at the Library, with the restricted area! Next up they are showing off the beautiful the Herbology greenhouses, the aesthetics of this place are simply amazing! We get a small glimpse of the Clock Tower area where the training dummy is set-up for The Collecting Wizard to start learning some combo’s and dueling!

The Quidditch pitch

Getting a look at the Quidditch pitch shows that it’s not completely empty, there are a bunch of students hitting a quaffle ball back and forth and students flying around the pitch. The hoops to score are not on the pitch which might be a worrying sign the developers don’t want to implement it in the game at all.

The Black Lake

The Black Lake is a big lake that curves around the Hogwarts castle, Wizarding World shows off that you are able to swim into the Black Lake and can get a stunning view of the castle from afar. It is confirmed that there will only be surface level swimming, so no diving down to get yourself some seaweed!

Summoner’s Court

TheMirandalorian is another one of the content creators that got to experience this hands-on demo of Hogwarts Legacy. They are giving us a first look at a mini game that you can find on the outside courtyard of the Hogwarts Castle. It’s called Summoner’s Court. A student called Leander Prewett challenges her to play a game. In this game you are using the Accio spell to pull balls towards you into different sections of the “court”. The further you get the ball up the court, while avoiding the obstacles, the more points you get. Pull it too hard and your ball will fall off the court, resulting in a zero point score! In this game you are also able to bump into your opponents balls to try and get them off the court or into a obstacle to bounce them back. It looks like a tricky game but fun for sure!

Fire and Vice side mission

In this quest we get to meet Poppy Sweeting, she will be your companion during this quest. She has news about Poachers that are trying to capture you, the player. The poachers have been going around Hogsmeade bragging about how much money they are making, but at the expense of innocent creatures. In this mission you are going on a search to find out what the poachers are up to. During the quest you come across a Centaur and aggresive Dugbog’s attacking wildlife on your way. You eventually find the poachers camp and get to battle with them. As you enter the poachers tent you find a massive dragon fighting ring inside! You and Poppy decide to go stealth and to look for more captured dragons. You end up finding a dragon egg and another captured dragon, leading into a fight to save the dragon from the poacher and free it.

A side quest that is around 20 minutes long and giving even more depth to the already rich Wizarding World. We can’t wait for whats to come when the full game released on February 10th 2023 on PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S with a later release on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on April 4, 2023. The Nintendo Switch release is on July 25, 2023.
