Coming To The Elder Scrolls Online in 2023

Coming To The Elder Scrolls Online in 2023

The Xbox Bethesda Developer Direct just aired where they dived deep into the upcoming new gaming releases scheduled for release in 2023. Here is everything we know that is coming to The Elder Scrolls Online in 2023.

The Elder Scrolls Online 2023

New Chapter: Necrom (June 5th)

Every year the developers at Zenimax Online Studios, the creators of The Elder Scrolls Online, pick a year long theme to build their upcoming content around. This year is no exception with the introduction of ‘Necrom’ ESO’s newest chapter. The theme, Shadow Over Morrowind. Explore the new zones of Eastern Morrowind and the Apocrypha. The new chapter will include a new class the Arcanist and it will be kicking off with a multi dungeon DLC called Scribes of Fate launching March 13th. The larger chapter Necrom is expected to launch after Scribes of Fate with a launch date of June 5th on PC.

New Class: Arcanist

In the weeks leading up to the Xbox Developer Direct show, The Elder Scrolls Online team was hinting that a new highly requested feature was coming. There was a lot of speculation in the community on what the new feature was going to be. Many believe it was going to be the highly requested ‘spell crafting’ that was told to be coming for a very long time now. However to many fans surprise the new feature was in fact NOT spell crafting after all. Instead a new playable class, the Arcanist. The Arcanist introduces a new combat mechanic called Crux which we will learn more about in the upcoming days. But essentially the more Crux you generate the more powerful you become. Be on the lookout for a more in-depth article about The Arcanist class here on Guides 4 Gaming in the near future.

Next DLC: Scribes of Fate (March 13th)

Kicking off this Chapter early with a multi dungeon DLC Scribes of Fate. Two new four-player dungeons, Scrivener’s Hall and Bal Sunnar. Both these new dungeons bring their own set of unique challenges and rewards. Along with other typical content, such as new sets or even new mythic items, expect this DLC to be stacked with things to do. The Scribes of Fate DLC is scheduled to be released on March 13th on PC.

Final Thought

The Developers have been highly criticized in the recent patches due to bugs and performance issues. This year they promised us they would do better. I believe that they might actually mean it. With scheduled time for bug fixes over content release I have high hopes for this chapter. The new class looks great and I know many players are excited to try it out. I hope we have nothing but good news to share about ESO in the coming year. Necrom is going to be amazing.
