Introduction
The Templar is one of the four original classes introduced in The Elder Scrolls Online at launch. The Templar has been known as the original healing class of the game. With that being said, the Templar has always been able to produce some great DPS and clutch kills in PvP. Over the years with the direction of ESO going towards “Play any class any way you want” makes the decision of wanting to play a damage Templar even easier. A lot of players will tell you playing a Templar in PvP is their favorite way to play the game. So without further ado here is our ESO Magicka Templar PvP Build.
Overview
Race: Khajiit (best choice) or Imperial (also a great choice)
Food: Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch (Best in slot food but very expensive, use Jewels of Misrule if gold is a problem the difference is small)
Mundus Stone: The Shadow (increase critical damage)
Vampire Stage: Vampire Stage 3
Consumables: Essence of Immovability, Tri-Stat Potions, Resistance Potions
Attributes: 44 Magicka, 15 Health, 5 Stamina
Gear
The best in slot options for this build would be considered “meta” and it is advised to try and stay to the best option as best as possible. We are balancing the sets with the most damage you can obtain on the front bar while using a tanky back bar.
Gear Information:
- Armor in Reinforced and Divines
- We wear 3 medium armor pieces
- We wear 3 heavy armor pieces on our larger pieces (chest, legs, helm/feet)

- Front bar weapon in ‘Nirnhoned’ and ‘Sharpened’ trait to to buff damage

Skills
Front Bar
Front Bar: Puncturing Sweep, Aurora Javelin, Purifying Light, Radiant Oppression, Degeneration, Crescent Sweep
Back Bar
Back Bar: Elemental Susceptibility, Channeled Focus, Resolving Vigor, Honor The Dead, Race Against Time, Temporal Guard
Rotation
Buff Rotation: The buff rotation is as follows. Channeled Focus, Race Against Time, and Degeneration are the buffs you want to keep up during fights. Resolving Vigor is a strong heal over time. Honor the Dead is the “oh crap!” burst heal. And Temporal Guard is the defensive ultimate that can reset the fight if really struggling to stay alive.
Damage Rotation: The damage rotation is simple. Begin the fight by debuffing your opponent with Elemental Susceptibility. Then apply Degeneration and Purifying Light to the opponent. Aurora Javelin will knockback your foe while you spam Puncturing Sweep. When you get them about half or low health Crescent Sweep is a strong burst ultimate and finish with the execute Radiant Oppression.
(rotations fully explained in build video)
